A 22-year-old NEET aspirant from Sikar died by suicide on Monday, shortly before the scheduled re-examination on June 21.

According to Sikar police, the cancelled May 2026 exam marked Umesh’s third attempt. He had previously attended coaching centers but was preparing at home for the re-test.

Udyog Nagar SHO Rajesh Kumar informed The Indian Express that Umesh resided in an apartment in Sikar with his mother and two siblings. His father works as a businessman in Mumbai.

Kumar noted that Umesh had taken his mother to their native village in Jhunjhunu on Monday. His sister and brother had departed for coaching sessions. Umesh died by suicide that afternoon.
