People’s Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti stated that she and her mother, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, were placed under house detention before July 13, observed in Kashmir as Martyrs’ Day.

In a video message, she said, “As you see, we have been put under house arrest.” She identified a sub-inspector named Mohammad Rafi at the site and noted that requests for him to explain the detention were declined.

Mufti also questioned official claims of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the situation could be measured by counting the locks on their gates.
