HYDERABAD
The Singareni Collieries Company Limited is focusing on steady coal deliveries to Telangana thermal power plants that hold linkages with the firm. The goal is to support continuous electricity output.
Chairman and Managing Director Buddhaprakash Jyoti directed on Friday that coal transport receive top attention and that deliveries to power stations be increased. These stations have raised output to handle higher demand linked to current El Niño conditions.
A video conference brought together the SCCL chief and Telangana Power Generation Corporation Ltd CMD S. Harish along with senior staff from both entities. They examined power needs, coal output, movement logistics and related matters.
Jyoti noted that rising electricity demand during El Niño requires tighter coordination to keep adequate coal reserves at every state thermal plant. Special officers will be assigned to oversee transport and address operational problems promptly.
Marketing officials reported that about 72 percent of SCCL coal now goes to TG-Genco stations, NTPC Ramagundam and the Singareni Thermal Power Plant. To meet growing state demand, the CMD ordered that Telangana plants receive even higher priority and that coal originally allocated elsewhere be redirected if needed.
Both organizations were told to keep reviewing station requirements and maintain close contact on production, rail and road logistics. Area general managers must ensure opencast mines continue operating without interruption through the monsoon while preserving output levels and quality.
Harish examined current stock levels at TG-Genco plants and urged local teams to clear any transport obstacles quickly.
