Delhi and northwest India face stormy conditions on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department predicting cloudy skies in the afternoon and evening. Light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, dust storms and winds of 50-60 kmph are expected, with gusts possibly reaching 70 kmph later. A new western disturbance will bring widespread thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning and hail across northwest India until June 13. Heavy to very heavy rain is forecast for eastern, northeastern and parts of southern India over the coming week. The system is also supporting the southwest monsoon’s further advance into central and eastern regions, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, over the next three to four days.
