Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on August 15, 2026, that the state economy has advanced notably in the last 32 months. Per capita income reached ₹4,18,931 in 2025-26, about 91 percent above the national average according to recent Reserve Bank of India data.

Addressing the audience after hoisting the flag at Golconda Fort in Hyderabad for the 80th Independence Day, the Chief Minister outlined plans to turn Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. The state also seeks to raise its contribution to national GDP to 10 percent.

The government is building Bharat Future City as India’s first net-zero smart city and an international center for artificial intelligence, data centers, advanced manufacturing, research and new technologies.

Mr. Reddy noted that nearly ₹1.70 lakh crore has been allocated to agriculture and farmer welfare in the past 32 months. He added that Telangana will not yield its rightful share of Krishna and Godavari river waters with Andhra Pradesh and is prioritizing pending irrigation projects such as Thummadihatti and the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

The Young India Skills University has trained 1,190 people in advanced skills, with 838 securing positions in major companies. Investments totaling ₹1.29 lakh crore have been attracted through TG-iPASS, potentially creating over 78,000 jobs. Memorandums of understanding worth ₹5.75 lakh crore were signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit-2025. The state will host the summit again this year and has introduced the Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy-2026 to strengthen its life sciences sector while pursuing investments in semiconductors and electronics.
