The India Meteorological Department reports that a western disturbance will bring active weather to large parts of the country over the next few days. Thunderstorms, strong winds and widespread rainfall are expected, offering relief from high temperatures in several areas.

In north India, Delhi-NCR recorded cooler temperatures on Saturday after light rain in the previous two days. The IMD issued a yellow alert for May 30 and 31, forecasting light rain with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph. Maximum temperatures in the capital are likely to range between 34°C and 36°C on May 30, below normal levels.

Moderate to severe thunderstorm activity is also forecast across northwest India from May 29 to 31. Isolated hailstorms may occur in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
