The Tirur Bar Association has called for a new court complex in Tirur due to shortcomings in the current facility built in 1910. Officials noted that the building has operated for more than a century yet lacks infrastructure for rising caseloads and updated judicial needs. Over 500 lawyers now work with the association, but the site offers insufficient room for offices, a library, or meeting spaces. Daily visitors including litigants, police, witnesses, and staff encounter shortages of waiting zones, restrooms, and parking. The structure also falls short on support for digital courtrooms, electronic filing, secure document storage, and access for older adults or those with disabilities. The association seeks a centenary complex featuring courtrooms, conference areas, a legal library, waiting zones, digital displays, and other amenities in one location. It has appealed to central and state governments, elected officials, and judicial bodies for funding and administrative backing. Former treasurer K.M. Saleem stated that authorities should now address the need for a replacement court building in Tirur.
