Nagpur: The RSS chief hoisted the national flag at the organization’s headquarters here on August 15 to mark the 80th Independence Day. He stated that the tricolor represents the ideals of sacrifice, duty and knowledge.
At the gathering, he noted it was a moment of pride, recalling the efforts made since 1857 to secure freedom. He described how the saffron shade stands for duty, knowledge and sacrifice, urging citizens to work toward national prosperity and security through continued effort.
The white portion, he added, signifies purity achieved through a life of duty and sacrifice, while the green denotes prosperity. He also stressed that diversity in views among individuals can coexist with overall unity.
Earlier, the prime minister raised the flag at the Red Fort, accompanied by a 21-gun salute from an artillery unit using indigenous equipment.
