A software engineer allegedly stabbed his partner to death inside her rented apartment in Haryana’s Gurugram before taking his own life by jumping in front of a train, according to police. The case emerged after the woman’s relatives became concerned when she failed to respond to calls and contacted authorities.

The event has caused alarm in Gurugram, as investigators seek to determine the circumstances behind the suspected murder-suicide.

FAMILY ALERT PROMPTS POLICE RESPONSE

The victim, named Ishaka and originally from Uttar Pradesh, resided in rented housing in Sector 55. Her relatives reached Sector 56 police station after multiple attempts to contact her went unanswered. Officers forced entry and discovered her body in a pool of blood. Initial findings indicate she suffered multiple knife wounds. Forensic teams arrived to gather evidence.

ACCUSED FOUND ON RAILWAY LINE

Investigators learned that the victim’s acquaintance, Shresth Malik, 25, a software engineer from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh, had been at the flat. While searching for him, police received reports of a man’s body found severed on the Gurugram railway tracks. The remains were identified as Malik, who authorities believe died by suicide after the killing.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Both bodies were sent for post-mortem exams, and families were notified. Sector 56 Station House Officer Manoj Kumar stated that inquiries continue. Police are reviewing CCTV recordings, call records and other materials to establish the timeline and causes. The precise motive will be clarified only after the probe concludes.
