On April 22, China revealed the selection of two individuals from Pakistan, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud, as the country’s first foreign astronauts. According to the China Manned Space Agency, the pair will travel to China for training as backup astronauts. Following the completion of their preparation and assessments, one will join a flight to the Tiangong space station in the role of payload expert, as reported by Global Times and Xinhua.
