Scientists in the United States have calculated the remaining duration of photosynthetic life on Earth. The aging sun grows brighter over time, eventually producing light too intense for vegetation to endure.
Earlier research used basic climate simulations and projected the biosphere’s end between 100 million and 900 million years from now. This latest analysis employed an advanced model incorporating clouds, moisture levels, and global atmospheric movements. It concludes that land plants may persist for approximately 1.68 billion years, with complete extinction occurring around 1.87 billion years later.
