The All India Tennis Association has set the maximum age for its Executive Committee members at 70. During an Extraordinary General Meeting on July 26 to approve the new constitution, members debated whether to follow the National Sports Governance Act limit of 70 or raise it to 75 under the International Tennis Federation rules, which do not specify an age cap. The vote was close, with results confirmed later through internal notice from interim president Chintan Parikh showing 25 votes for 70 and 22 for 75. Candidates for the committee must be under 70 when filing nominations but may complete a four-year term even if they reach that age later. This prevents the return of veteran official Anil Khanna, who is 73. Parikh will turn 70 soon, and elections must occur by September 30 under the updated rules. The association must submit the constitution to the Delhi High Court before the next hearing on August 14.
