After securing one of his biggest wins on a major stage, Ayush Shetty felt too exhausted to mark his victory over the world number one and defending champion on Monday. The 20-year-old said he felt great about the result and was pleased with his performance. The contest proved intense, with each player taking a game before the opponent rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final game to nearly complete a comeback. Shetty described it as avoiding a major collapse under pressure. He noted that he expected a difficult match and prepared both mentally and physically. During the deciding game he focused on staying calm as nerves rose and the opponent closed the gap while returning shots effectively. The defeated player acknowledged the winner’s strong play and stated there were no fitness concerns. He added that the emphasis was on keeping composure and making tactical changes after the interval to adjust to conditions and regain momentum.
