New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India may need to finalize support staff arrangements following the current tour of England. Reports indicate that assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fast bowling coach Morne Morkel are considering departures once their contracts end after the ODI series this month. Doeschate has expressed uncertainty about continuing due to extensive travel demands, while Morkel evaluates his options. The board is in talks with both to explore possible resolutions, according to a source. The team is scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in early August. VVS Laxman will lead Centre of Excellence staff for the T20I series in Zimbabwe later in July. Doeschate may pursue opportunities with an IPL franchise. Head coach Gautam Gambhir selected the pair upon taking charge in 2024. The board prefers staff developed through its coaching program. If unresolved, Lakshmipathy Balaji could join the Sri Lanka tour. Fielding coach T Dilip is also under scrutiny over declining team standards, having received a reprieve last year after an earlier dismissal.
