The left-hander hit five sixes and five fours after England lost both openers for ducks in the first over. Harry Brook scored 39 and Tom Banton made 39 in supporting stands. India had posted 190 for seven, led by Ishan Kishan’s 49 and Abhishek Sharma’s 43. Teenage debutant Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 14. Sam Curran took three wickets for 33, while Arshdeep Singh claimed three for 40. Ravi Bishnoi conceded 60 runs in four overs. The opening match had been washed out.
