India were dismissed for 462 in their first innings on the third day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka on Monday. Devdutt Padikkal led the scoring with 167, completed on the previous day. Starting at 460 for nine, the team added only two more runs before the last wicket fell, with Asitha Fernando removing Prasidh Krishna. Prabath Jayasuriya took 4 for 109 for Sri Lanka, while Keshara Nuwantha claimed 3 for 175 and Fernando finished with 2 for 63. Padikkal’s innings formed the core of India’s total. Rain had washed out the first two sessions on the second day.
