India’s Tanvi Sharma entered the quarter-finals of the Orleans Masters 2026 badminton tournament after a straight-game win over compatriot Anmol Kharb at the Palais des Sports in France on Thursday.

Tanvi Sharma, 38th in the women’s singles badminton rankings, beat world No. 51 Anmol Kharb 21-14, 21-17 in the second round of the BWF Super 300 tournament.

The second game followed a similar script with Tanvi Sharma opening up an 11-7 lead at the interval.

However, Anmol Kharb mounted a spirited comeback to draw level at 17-all, but Tanvi Sharma held her nerve at the crucial juncture and picked up four straight points to seal the contest and book her place in the next round.

This was Tanvi Sharma’s third win in four encounters against Anmol Kharb.

The Indian pair edged a closely fought opening game in the tie-break before dominating the second to seal the match 26-24, 21-14 in 35 minutes.
