Karachi: Senior Pakistan Cricket Board officials will meet this weekend to determine the future of Test captain Shan Masood and head coach Sarfaraz Khan. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi will attend the session, which follows the team’s 0-2 series loss to Bangladesh. The outcome will shape selections for upcoming tours of England and the West Indies. Sources indicate the main question is whether Masood will retain the Test captaincy. Some selectors and officials favor giving Salman Ali Agha the role, as he already leads the side in limited-overs cricket. Despite Masood’s wish to continue, the Bangladesh results may count against him. No agreement has been reached yet with Sarfaraz Khan. Former captain Younis Khan is under consideration as the next head coach, though contract talks remain ongoing. Mohammad Hafeez is also mentioned as a possible candidate. The board aims to clarify the positions by Saturday. Naqvi reportedly seeks changes due to dissatisfaction with overall team progress and plans to ease the workload of officials holding multiple roles. The meeting may also address the appointment of a Director of International Cricket.
