The NBA finals return to Game 4 after the San Antonio Spurs secured a 115-111 win at Madison Square Garden. Victor Wembanyama led the effort with 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks. The Spurs center dominated stretches on both ends and responded each time the Knicks threatened a comeback. Stephon Castle added 23 points, five rebounds and five assists in support. The rookie helped maintain momentum during periods when De’Aaron Fox had difficulties. New York still leads the series but managed only 47 second-half points, with Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges combining for four points after halftime. San Antonio’s victory marks just the second time a road team has won the first three games of an NBA finals, last occurring in 1993. The Knicks’ 13-game winning streak ended with the loss. In the closing minutes the Spurs built a lead before the Knicks hit consecutive three-pointers to narrow the gap. De’Aaron Fox then made a step-back jumper to extend the advantage. Wembanyama completed an alley-oop and converted free throws to push the margin to eight. Despite late pressure from the Knicks the Spurs held on for the victory.
