AI-related abilities are becoming a standard requirement in many workplaces. Skills tied to artificial intelligence now appear in 15.4 percent of technology job postings, compared with 0.9 percent in 2020. This marks an almost 17-fold increase in demand over six years. In non-technology positions, mentions of such skills have risen nearly six times, moving from 0.26 percent to 1.59 percent during the same period. The findings come from an analysis of over 300,000 job descriptions and input from nearly 27,000 professionals across more than 80 industries and 15 cities. Workers who possess AI skills receive higher median pay in both IT and non-IT positions than those without them. Roles involving these skills have also shown stronger salary growth in recent years. Hiring demand has increased most quickly for staff with 13 to 16 years of experience. Companies are also seeking candidates in higher pay ranges, such as 40 to 49 lakh rupees and above 50 lakh rupees. Usage of AI tools is highest in areas like product management, data science, analytics, and engineering. The report indicates that India has moved into a phase of wider AI adoption, where continued training will shape how fully organizations and workers benefit from the technology.
