Many users struggle to choose meals while browsing food delivery platforms due to excessive options. A new service called Luckd addresses this by providing surprise bags from selected cafes and eateries in Bengaluru without requiring item selection. Founder Akshay Bhartiya, who has an engineering degree and an MBA from Esade Business School, developed the platform after noting more curated choices abroad compared to the abundance in India. The app functions as a marketplace for limited, pre-selected experiences. It partners with bakeries in areas such as HSR Layout and Koramangala. Users register via phone number, enter their address, and view timed drops for breakfast, coffee, or lunch. Cafes include top items or specials in the bags, with allergen and dietary details shown but not specific contents. Prices range from 300 to 350 rupees, with delivery in about 30 minutes by the company’s own riders or third-party staff. Participating spots include Glen’s Bakehouse, The Humble Pie, Crave Theory, Mary Janes Bakery & Deli, Salad Street Co, and Poiee. The service currently operates in select city zones and plans expansion to Whitefield and Indiranagar. It remains bootstrapped, with strong customer retention noted, and aims to add more partners while exploring beauty, wellness, and outdoor activities later. The app is listed on the App Store and Google Play.
