Delivery firm Borzo has named Darryl Dias as its new leader for operations in India, as the company prepares to strengthen its presence in key urban areas like Bengaluru, Delhi, and the surrounding region, while prioritizing financial efficiency. Borzo currently serves 23 cities in India, offering same-city delivery services to consumers and small to medium-sized businesses. Although Mumbai accounts for the majority of its local business, the firm aims to increase its footprint in other major cities. Dias commented on the strategy, saying the company will sustain its current position but also target emerging markets like Delhi and Bengaluru in the coming months, with an emphasis on achieving sustainable profitability through better cost management. India represents 65% of Borzo’s worldwide gross merchandise value and 75% of its overall shipments. In his role, Dias will oversee the Indian division, driving development and enhancements in the quick-delivery market. The company presently employs 40,000 active delivery personnel each month. Regarding competition, Dias noted that Borzo leads in the fast-delivery category and plans to concentrate on effective implementation, ensuring growth that is both profitable and avoids excessive spending. With 15 years in operations, planning, and product innovation, Dias previously helped establish electric vehicle firm Magenta Mobility. Borzo faces rivalry from services such as Porter, Delhivery Direct, and Rapido Parcel.
