Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 594-kilometre Ganga Expressway on April 29. The project is expected to serve as a new economic corridor for Uttar Pradesh. The high-speed road runs from Bijauli village in Meerut to Judapur Dandu in Prayagraj. It crosses 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The corridor connects more than 500 villages and links western Uttar Pradesh with its central and eastern regions.
