Microsoft is preparing another round of layoffs that may affect thousands of staff as the company seeks to control expenses while sustaining major AI spending. The reductions are expected to total under 2.5 percent of its 220,000 employees, according to Business Insider. The changes, due to be announced next week, will hit roles in sales, consulting and the Xbox gaming unit. Xbox staff reductions have been anticipated after the division’s new leader called for a business reset. Some impacted workers may receive alternative positions right away.
