The remarks followed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s three-day visit to India, where the two nations discussed the idea. Beijing’s spokesperson in India cited earlier comments from China’s Foreign Ministry made during talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visiting leader.
