MRI scans during memory tasks revealed stronger links between histamine-producing areas and the hippocampus in the treated group. These individuals performed 11 percent better on retrieving learned details. Experts caution against using the drug for cognitive enhancement due to potential sleep disruption, which could harm long-term memory. The results align animal findings with human outcomes and may encourage further study of histamine targets for brain disorders. Patients using the medication for narcolepsy or related conditions have noted gains in focus, though effects mainly restore normal function rather than exceed it.
