YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticized alleged coercive actions by the government against Amaravati farmers. He described the measures as authoritarian and inhumane toward those who gave land. In a social media post, he stated that farmers had offered to surrender their fields, their only source of family income, yet officials ignored their objections. He added that authorities sent large police contingents and bulldozers into the fields, destroyed crops, and removed farmers from their land. Earlier voluntary land donors, he said, received no proper redress. He pledged support for the farmers and urged the government not to acquire any land without consent.
