Royals assembled in Austria for the grand wedding of an Indian noble and a Bavarian countess. Kunwar Dhruv Raj Singh of Doongri wed Countess Marie von und zu Eltz during a festive event uniting European aristocracy and Indian royalty in the Austrian Alps. The couple exchanged vows at the historic St Paul’s Conversion parish church in Bad Aussee last weekend. The Gothic building, once a key medieval pilgrimage site, hosted the ceremony. Three days earlier the pair held a Hindu rite and civil service. Festivities also featured a boat excursion on Lake Altaussee. The bride, daughter of Count Peter von Eltz and Princess Gina of Quadt-Wykradt-Isny, descends from King Ludwig III of Bavaria and the Vanderbilt family. The groom belongs to the Rajput noble house of Doongri and is a distant cousin of Padmanabh Singh. The couple reached the church in a Suzuki truck. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with corseted bodice, long veil and diamond jewellery including a large sapphire necklace. She was escorted by her father. The church featured colourful floral displays matching the groom’s vibrant headscarf and pocket square. Guests included the Duke of Noto, Countess Marie Gabrielle von und zu Arco-Zinneberg, Hereditary Count Ludwig von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee and Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh Bahadur of Jaipur. Several attendees posted images on social media showing mountain chalets, marquees and guests in traditional and formal dress.
