The film Satluj starring Diljit Dosanjh has been removed from ZEE5 just two days after its release on the platform. Directed by Honey Trehan, the project was formerly titled Punjab 95 and had undergone prolonged review by the Central Board of Film Certification.
ZEE5 issued a statement on Sunday, July 5, 2026, noting the strong audience response and thanking viewers for their support. The streamer reaffirmed its commitment to the film and its themes, stating that powerful stories can inspire and endure. It also indicated hope of restoring the title in the future but did not explain the reason for its removal.
Satluj follows human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, a former bank manager who documented mass disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Punjab during the militancy period. Produced by RSVP Movies, the film was once set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023 but was withdrawn after official intervention. It later faced 127 requested edits from the certification board and missed a planned theatrical release in February of the previous year.
