The National Stock Exchange has lengthened trading hours in the equity derivatives segment by ten minutes. Normal market close will now occur at 3:40 pm instead of 3:30 pm, effective August 3, 2026. Pre-open timings stay the same, running from 9:00 am to 9:08 am. The regular session will still begin at 9:15 am. The trade modification window remains unchanged until 4:15 pm. Closing prices will continue to use volume-weighted average price from the final thirty minutes of trading, now covering 3:10 pm to 3:40 pm. Functional updates will be available for testing in upcoming mock sessions. The exchange will send a broadcast message on NEAT terminals when the Closing Auction Session begins in the equity segment. Outstanding orders outside the adjusted price range will be cancelled. A security loses eligibility for the Closing Auction Session if removed from equity derivatives on both exchanges. It retains eligibility if listed on at least one exchange. All unexecuted special orders will be cancelled, and members will receive confirmation messages.
