U.S. stocks remain close to record levels as companies such as Dollar Tree, Snowflake and Hormel Foods report continued profits. This holds even as oil prices recover from sharp drops earlier in the week and reports highlight economic pressure from the conflict with Iran. The S&P 500 fell 0.1% in early trading after its latest peak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 328 points while the Nasdaq composite declined 0.2%. Both indexes had set records the prior day. Brent crude rose 2%.
