Nearly eight months after a nine-year-old student died at Neerja Modi School in Jaipur, her family has released CCTV footage. They say it shows the child facing repeated bullying in the classroom shortly before the incident.
The family of Class 4 student Amaira Meena presented the footage as new evidence. They allege ongoing bullying by classmates and insufficient intervention by the school contributed to her death.
According to the parents, the video shows the girl entering the classroom, greeting a classmate, joining a dance activity, then appearing distressed after being bullied and seeking help from teachers without adequate response.
The family has repeated its demand for action under the Juvenile Justice Act against everyone they hold responsible. They also want abetment charges added where applicable.
Amaira jumped from the fourth floor of the school building on November 1, 2025, and was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
The footage was released after Jaipur Police filed a chargesheet. The parents, Vijay Meena and Shivani Meena, claim the investigation is incomplete. They questioned why the principal and school founder were not named despite alleged evidence of negligence.
The parents also said investigators did not properly review a CBSE inspection report that noted irregularities such as underqualified teachers. They called for a fresh impartial inquiry.
An advocacy group backed the demands and urged mandatory anti-bullying protocols, qualified counsellors, full CCTV coverage and stricter child safety rules in schools.
