The Indian Embassy in Bangkok has released a new travel advisory for Indian citizens heading to Thailand. It recommends that travelers review the latest entry rules prior to departure. Issued on July 2, the notice follows the end of Thailand’s visa-free program for Indian passport holders. It details required documents, visa rules and other steps to support smooth entry processing. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months after arrival. They should also keep confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings and a clear itinerary ready, as officials may request them. All visitors must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours of arrival and present the resulting QR code if asked. Those entering under visa waiver or visa on arrival rules need to carry at least 20,000 Thai baht, roughly 57,446 rupees, per person. Officials may check proof of adequate funds. The advisory warns that individuals with job offers should obtain the proper employment visa in advance rather than using tourist entry options. Transit passengers are advised to carry onward tickets and any required visas for their final destination. The embassy also shared an 11-point checklist covering passport validity, tickets, bookings, the digital arrival card, appropriate visas, cash requirements and document handling. It urges all travelers to confirm they meet every requirement before starting their trip.
