Manas Pimpalkhare is a journalist based in New Delhi working with Mint. He reports on the links between economic policy, industry and new sectors driving India’s expansion. His writing covers government rules, manufacturing and the shift to clean energy, with focus on electric vehicles, battery systems and rare earth supply networks. He has covered India’s drive to develop local capacity in electric mobility and energy storage while reducing reliance on imports.

Manas studied law in Pune and completed a diploma in business journalism from the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai. In nearly two years as a Mint correspondent he has reported on major conflicts, a general election and three Union Budgets.

Outside work he plays bass guitar in a band and enjoys time with cats.
