The National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed all medical colleges to avoid approving leaves for students on May 2 and 3 amid the Undergraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UGNEET-2026), except in rare cases supported by valid reasons. According to the Union Ministry of Education’s communication to the NMC, this directive aims to reduce risks of examination irregularities. The ministry described it as a precautionary action to promote integrity and prevent any improper activities during the test.
