The Civil Supplies department has sent a notice to the Devikulam Girijan Cooperative Society, responsible for ration distribution in Edamalakudy, due to a reported deficit of more than 64,000 kilograms of rice in the tribal panchayat. Devikulam taluk’s Civil Supplies Officer, Sanjaynath R., stated that in March, the department provided 60,000 kilograms of rice to the Societykudy outlet and 14,000 kilograms to the Vellavarakkudy outlet. This allocation was intended to cover two and a half months, in preparation for potential interruptions caused by ongoing roadworks on the Pettimudy-Edamalakudy route.
