Three children died when a train struck a school van at a level crossing in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. Initial reports indicate the crossing was open as the van attempted to pass. The injured were taken to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital, where some remain in critical condition. Several other students were also hurt in the collision at Karnasuvarna near Berhampore.
