Two US service members died in Jordan on July 17 while repelling Iranian ballistic missile and drone strikes, according to the US Central Command. One additional member is reported missing. Four personnel were evacuated to Jordanian hospitals for treatment and later released, while others with minor injuries have resumed duties. The identities of those killed will remain private until their families are notified. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for targeting a US facility at Al Azraq. Iranian state media asserted that the assault destroyed at least two US fighter jets and three other aircraft. This follows an earlier July 9 attack in which ten Iranian missiles were launched at the same base, though Jordanian forces intercepted eight with no reported damage or casualties. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
