The government has prepared an extensive legislative program for the Monsoon Session of Parliament. It includes seven key bills covering education, taxation, judicial reforms, MSME support and national administration.

The draft schedule shows a busy period ahead, with two bills ready for final approval and five new measures proposed for introduction. The list remains open to further additions as the session unfolds.

Two bills are listed for consideration and passage. The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, aims to tighten oversight of foreign funds received by NGOs. Assets of organisations whose FCRA registration ends would transfer to a government-designated authority. Officials say the changes will boost transparency.

The Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, seeks to replace the UGC, AICTE and NCTE with a single regulatory body. It follows review by a Joint Parliamentary Committee and aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 to ease compliance and strengthen governance.

Five new bills are slated for introduction. The Income-Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, targets deeper sovereign debt markets and greater foreign investment. The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, would raise the number of judges to handle rising caseloads. The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026, introduces stricter rules and penalties to improve record accuracy. The Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, updates protections for the flag, anthem and national symbols. The MSME Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, focuses on faster payments and more flexible state-level dispute councils.

Parliament will also address financial items such as excess grants for 2022-23. The session is expected to feature wide-ranging activity across multiple policy areas.
