The Karnataka Congress has adopted a resolution demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The move follows allegations of financial irregularities in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust overseeing Ayodhya temple construction.
Passed during the party’s general body meeting, the resolution also seeks a special investigation team to examine the claimed scam and a CBI inquiry into the matter. It states that the central government formed the eleven-member trust with members from the RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad to manage temple building.
The Congress unit alleges that the trust received tens of thousands of crores in public and government donations without maintaining proper accounts. It further claims that thousands of crores plus gold, silver, diamonds and other valuables were misappropriated by certain trustees and staff.
The resolution calls for an SIT to identify and punish those responsible. It criticizes authorities for arresting employees instead of acting against office-bearers. The party says the alleged scam has dishonoured Lord Ram and damaged national identity and values, prompting nationwide concern. It demands a CBI probe and the resignations of the three leaders on moral grounds.
