Three workers lost their lives when a blast occurred at a factory in Bendri, within Urla police station limits in Raipur, on Tuesday, according to officials. Two died instantly, while the third passed away during transport to a medical facility. No additional injuries were reported. The victims were named as Arun Pandey from Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh, along with Komal Singh and Lal Singh from Dindori district in Madhya Pradesh. The facility produces ferroalloys and pig iron. The blast led to a fire that caused alarm among staff and local residents. The State Disaster Response Force arrived quickly to carry out rescue work and put out the flames. A Forensic Science Laboratory team has begun inspecting the location to establish the cause. Initial indications point to a possible oxygen cylinder blast, though this has not been verified and inquiries continue. Senior officers, including DCP North Mayank Gurjar, were present at the scene. Authorities have cordoned off the premises while the probe proceeds.
