A 25-year-old woman gave birth to quadruplets, consisting of three girls and one boy, at a government hospital in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, according to doctors on Thursday. The infants arrived on Wednesday evening. All four were born prematurely and remain in stable condition overall, although three are still listed as serious.

The mother, named Jyoti, is reported to be stable and recovering. The newborns have low birth weights and are receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Word of the delivery spread rapidly in Jhalawar, drawing relatives and well-wishers to the facility. The father, Arun Kashyap, described the event as divine will and expressed gratitude for the three daughters and one son, noting the family already has a five-year-old boy.

Paediatrician Dr Rajendra Gupta called the case very uncommon and said it was the first quadruplet delivery he had seen at the Jhalawar Government Women’s Hospital. Morning checks on Thursday showed the mother and infants stable. One baby has improved slightly while the other three continue under close observation. Doctors indicated the next several days will be critical for the low-birth-weight infants.
