Coaches will be permitted to use laptops during hydration breaks at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A report from The Athletic indicates that managers and their staff will have access to these devices for the duration of the event. Players must remain on the pitch during the pauses and cannot approach the bench area. No rules currently forbid them from viewing a laptop positioned beside the touchline while staying in play. The International Football Association Board states that electronic devices are allowed for coaching staff during matches.
