Welcome to day eleven at Roland Garros, where matches on Philippe Chatrier feature several players from eastern Europe and Italy. Qualifier Maja Chwalinska takes on 22nd seed Anna Kalinskaya. Chwalinska advanced through juniors alongside Iga Swiatek but followed a separate path and enters the quarterfinals after securing just one prior grand slam victory. The 24-year-old faces Kalinskaya, who also reached this stage unexpectedly and had previously advanced only once at a major, during the 2024 Australian Open. Aryna Sabalenka, the sole remaining grand slam champion in the women’s and men’s fields, meets surprise quarterfinalist Diana Shnaider. Sabalenka produced a strong performance on clay by defeating Naomi Osaka in the prior round, leading Shnaider to view the contest mainly as preparation. Attention also turns to Felix Auger-Aliassime, now the top seed remaining in his half after Jannik Sinner’s exit, as he plays Flavio Cobolli. Later, Matteo Berrettini faces Matteo Arnaldi, who has already competed through 18 sets. Action starts at 11am local time, or 10am BST.
