The Indian team management will decide within 48 hours on Mohammed Siraj’s workload before the one-off Test against Afghanistan. If rested, Auqib Nabi could join the squad. Medical staff are monitoring Siraj in Chandigarh, with his involvement depending on assessments over the next two days. Siraj completed a full Indian Premier League season with Gujarat Titans, including the final on May 31. Officials considered resting him but preferred to avoid an inexperienced bowling attack. If Siraj sits out, Gurnoor Brar may debut and Nabi would be added. Nabi, who claimed 60 Ranji Trophy wickets for Jammu and Kashmir, has joined as one of six net bowlers. Other net bowlers include Gurjapneet Singh, Prince Yadav, Saransh Jain, Zeeshan Ansari and Shivang Kumar. The Test takes place at the New Punjab Cricket Association International Stadium in New Chandigarh, followed by three ODIs.
