Ayush Badoni, a batsman for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has entered the record books as the third player to accumulate 1,000 runs in the Indian Premier League for the franchise. He reached this milestone in LSG’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the current IPL season on Thursday in Kolkata. The right-handed player required 25 runs before the match to hit the mark, and he accomplished it in the 12th over while pursuing a target of 182. Badoni is now the second Indian to achieve 1,000 runs for LSG, following KL Rahul, who was the first. Badoni’s total stands at 1,029 runs across 59 appearances, with an average of 26.38.

Nicholas Pooran, previously with the West Indies team, reached the same achievement last year alongside Rahul. In this encounter, Badoni delivered a crucial performance, scoring 54 runs from 34 deliveries, including seven boundaries and two maximums.

Regarding the contest, LSG secured an impressive win at Eden Gardens on Thursday, overcoming three-time IPL winners KKR by three wickets in a dramatic finish on the last delivery. While pursuing 182, LSG relied on half-centuries by Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary to claim their second triumph in the IPL 2026 campaign.
