The 15-year-old scored 776 runs at a strike rate of 237.31 in his first full season and could finish as the tournament’s top scorer. He has dismissed attacks from bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins. Sangakkara noted that the left-hander has shown maturity and responsibility in the opening role. He added that Sooryavanshi is ready for any challenge and is likely to receive an India call soon. India’s next T20 series is in Ireland in late June. After scores of 97 and 96 in recent matches, the teenager has shown he can adjust to different situations. Sangakkara praised his game reading and fearless approach. The team plans individual training and fitness support for him between seasons, including sessions in Nagpur. Coaching focuses on keeping instructions simple to maintain his clear mindset.
