All major domestic competitions, such as zonal events, ranking tournaments and national championships, will adopt the updated format. The initial event using the Badminton World Federation’s 15×3 scoring method in India is the Yonex-Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament at the Regional Sports Centre in Ernakulam, running from July 7 to 14. The change seeks to help Indian players adjust smoothly to the revised rules, handle its strategic and physical requirements, and maintain the country’s strong global standing in the sport, according to a Badminton Association of India statement. Matches remain best-of-three games with rally-point scoring, but each game now ends at 15 points rather than 21. A two-point margin is still required after 14-all, and games are limited to 21 points, with the next point deciding the outcome at 20-all.
