Real Madrid strengthened its back line by acquiring Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan. The club confirmed the move on Sunday, days after the player and the Netherlands exited the World Cup in the round of 32 against Morocco. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Dumfries signed a four-year contract. The 30-year-old featured in all four Dutch matches at the tournament. He will vie for the right-back spot alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, signed the previous year. Long-serving right back Dani Carvajal departed after 13 seasons. Madrid, starting the campaign under José Mourinho, has continued reshaping its roster. Additional arrivals include Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva.
