HCLTech, a global IT services and technology firm, opened a Global Technology Centre in GIFT City, Ahmedabad, on Friday. The facility employs around 500 engineers as part of the company’s growth strategy. The centre will provide AI-driven solutions to global clients in financial services and act as a hub for developing advanced technology and training talent. HCLTech also signed agreements with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar and Gujarat Technological University to strengthen industry-academia ties and develop technology skills in Gujarat. The collaborations will focus on AI research for financial services, software development, and skills training, offering students and faculty practical exposure to global digital projects. Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi noted that the initiative supports local employment and aligns with efforts to provide youth access to international career paths within the state.
